SPECIAL WORKSHOP CREATES AWARENESS ABOUT CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

In our country, every second child, be it a boy or a girl, faces one or more forms of sexual abuse!
The National Policy for Children 1974, Government of India, declares that the children are the 'supreme asset of the nation', and we believe empowerment of children can be the single most impactful step that can be taken to challenge and face the issue. Under the umbrella of various circulars by prominent school boards and various state commissions for protection of children from abuse, a workshop on Introduction to Project CACA (Children Against Child Abuse) was recently conducted for our Shakti girls by NGO SAI (Social Axiom Insignia). Child-centric and holistic in approach, the project aimed at creating a safety net for children against child abuse in general and child sexual abuse in particular through an array of effective approaches like stories, poems, plays and activities. The elaborate course covers this critical issue beautifully and makes us all hopeful for a better world, where childhood can breathe freely!
